Student Policy

Arizona Music Academy Student Policy is designed to make music lessons available to any individual wishing to study a musical instrument or receive vocal training, and make their experience at our studio organized, safe, productive, and fun. Please read our student policies covering registration, tuition and payment policy, code of conduct, practice time, first lessons needs, and make-up lessons.

Registration: To guarantee your lesson time at Arizona Music Academy, there is a $25.00 registration fee that is non-refundable.  Registration will be collected before the first scheduled lesson. Students returning to study at Arizona Music Academy after any period of absence do not have to pay this registration fee again to establish another class schedule.

Tuition and Payment Policy: Tuition is based on the lesson and the number of lesson hours scheduled. Tuition is collected through an auto-pay system.   All families can set up their auto-payment using either a credit or debit card. Payments will be charged on the first day of each month.  A $10 late fee will be applied after the 10th of the month if the payment on file does not clear.  VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and AMEX are all accepted forms of payment.  There is special pricing available for three or more students/lessons per family. The office/desk must be notified of all changes and cancellations.  A two week notice must be given if a student plans to discontinue lessons.   No refunds will be given after the first lesson. Any returned check will be charged a $30 returned check fee.

Code of Conduct: Students are expected to show respect to their teacher and classmates at all times while they are in our studio.  Any students showing actions which may cause harm or injury to others will be asked to sit out their scheduled class time.  A parent/teacher meeting will then take place and a decision will be made as to the action we as a company must take, up to and including dismissal from our studio.

Practice Time: Each student must practice a minimum of 10 – 15 minutes every day in order for the lessons to be effective.  Students are making a weekly commitment to Arizona Music Academy and a daily commitment to practice at home as well.

First Lesson Needs: Students are required to purchase books at their first lesson.  Please note that in order to succeed each student must have a keyboard, piano, guitar or pertaining instrument at home on which to practice.  Most books are available at AMA.

Make-up Lessons: Make up lessons are NOT available. Due to limited studio and instructor availability, no make up lessons are given. Instructors are in no way obligated to give a make up lesson for times missed by the student. Any lesson cancelled by a student will be charged, credits are not given due to illness, school breaks, or vacations. If a lesson is cancelled by Arizona Music Academy or the instructor, a make up lesson or a credit will be given on the following month’s bill.

Instructor Absence: In the event that an AMA instructor is not available to teach their normal schedule, AMA will provide a qualified substitute teacher. Lessons will proceed as normal and any student refusing lessons is still responsible for payment of that lesson. If a substitute is not available, AMA will issue a credit for that lesson.
